David Dubois is appointed Deputy to the Head of the Mergers Unit, Etienne Chantrel, starting 12 June 2023. He will work alongside Anne-Sophie Delhaise and Géraldine Rousset, who are also Deputies.

He takes over from Sara Darley, to whom the Autorité extends its warmest thanks and best wishes for future success.

Biography

David Dubois holds a Master's in Economic and Regulatory Law from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Strasbourg, as well as the CAPA (Certificate of Aptitude for the Profession of Lawyer). He began his career as an associate specialising in competition law.

In September 2013, he was appointed Rapporteur (case officer) at the Autorité de la concurrence, first for three years in the Mergers Unit, then from 2017 to 2019 in Antitrust Unit 4. Between 2014 and 2019, David Dubois also taught competition law to Master's students at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris and Strasbourg, as well as at the Université Paris Descartes.

In 2019, he joined the European Commission, where he spent three years as a case handler in charge of merger control for the C5 Unit. During this time, he worked on major projects such as Alstom/Bombardier, Veolia/Suez and Vivendi/Lagardère.

David Dubois returned to the Autorité de la concurrence in January 2023 and was a case officer in Antitrust Unit 4.
