The General Rapporteur of the Autorité de la concurrence confirms that
dawn raids occurred on 8 April
in the marketing sector for treatments to prevent AMD

On 8 April 2014, following authorisation from the liberty and custody judge, the investigation services of the Autorité de la concurrence raided companies suspected of having implemented anti-competitive practices in marketing anti-angiogenic drugs to prevent exsudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Such interventions do not, of course, pre-suppose the guilt of the companies involved in the alleged practices, which only a full investigation into the merits of the case could establish, if appropriate.

The investigation services of the Autorité de la concurrence
Due to the principle of separation between the investigative and the decision-making processes, the investigation services have been placed under the sole authority of the General Rapporteur.
